How the 100-Point Index is Calculated

2026 Session Standards

Every legislator begins with a perfect 100 points. Points are deducted based on tracked legislative behavior to reveal their true voting record. Legislators are then ranked from highest to lowest score.

-2 Points (Budget)

For every core budget bill (HB 2002-2020) they voted YES on.

-3 Points (Aided the Democrat Agenda)

For YES votes on bills where the percentage of Democrat Caucus support outpaced the percentage of Republican Caucus backing by 20% or more.

-1 Point (Leaned Democrat)

For YES votes on bills where a plurality of the Democrat Caucus voted YEA, outnumbering Republican Caucus support but less than 20%.

Attendance Penalty

-1 Point for each of the first 12 missed votes.
-2 Points for every missed vote thereafter.

-5 Points (Constitutional)

For every YES vote on a bill rated "Reject" by Locke & Smith. *Ratings are ongoing for 2026.

-15 Points (Rubber Stamp) ⚠️

Triggered at 95% or more YES votes on all Agreed Bills.

In a healthy legislature, lawmakers vote independently. Voting "Yes" on almost everything indicates a "rubber stamp" for leadership rather than representing the district.

  • Roberts: Senator Roberts' score is heavily impacted by missed votes due to an active deployment with the National Guard.
